Welcome to Burscough Priory Science College website.
As School is about to recommence again for a new
academic year we welcome all of our new year 7 pupils
and hope they will have a very enjoyable and fruitful
time at Burscough Priory. We would also like to
congratulate last years Year 11 pupils who achieved some
outstanding examination results as can be seen below.
Well done to you all and best wishes for your future
endeavours.
Life at Priory extends much further than just a pure
academic approach and our ethos focuses on developing
the whole child to ensure the young people who leave us
at the age of 16 are well prepared both academically and
socially for whatever chosen path they then embark on,
be it further education or employment. Through this
website we try and present the wider picture of life at
Priory although due to the diverse variety of both
curricular and extra curricular activities it is
impossible for us to show you everything that is
happening within the School at any point in time.

GCSE Results 2010
Posted 24th August 2010
School achieved 73% 5+ A*-C and 57% 5+ A*-C including English and mathematics. Headteacher, Douglas Bruce, says “We’re
pleased with the results, with many pupils doing exceptionally well but conscious that not every one of them achieved their
full potential which is our aim at all times. Every year the pressure from outside on them to succeed seems to increase and
the resilience and general good humour young people show in the circumstances are nothing short of remarkable. I have the
greatest respect for all young people at this challenging time but particularly our Year 11 with whom it has been a pleasure to work”.
Outstanding performances included Lydia Craddock, Adam Deane, Fahima Miah and Lauren Richardson who scored a combined total of 28A*s
and 15As with no grades below.
